As the outcome of my research, I choose Australia because it is a very popular destination with a high quality of education. Australia has got top ranking Universities that provide excellent quality of education and have global recognition. The education system is more practical and carrier oriented with a good international impression which can help students to prepare themselves for the competitive job market and to cope up with demanding challenges at work. Friendly environment, top-quality education with innovative teaching styles, interactive classrooms, projects, and visual presentations and many more features have made the country an ever-welcoming destination for international students. I also attracted by the multicultural and peaceful cities with impressive health and safety standards, low crime rate, considerably affordable living expenses than US, UK and has favorable weather conditions and a comfortable learning environment.
Australia has seven of the top 100 universities in the world. Australia offers a wide range of study options for international students, with over 22,000 courses across 1,100 institutions. Australia’s education system ranks 8th in the world ahead of countries such as the UK, Germany, and Japan. In addition to these, The Australia Government invested over $200,000,000 per year for an international scholarship which makes studying in Australia more accessible for international students. All the universities of Australia must be registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institute and course for Overseas Student) so it ensures that we get a quality education, Australia has also enacted more student-friendly laws than most countries. The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework, has benefited international students like me with various liberal opportunities and support services. This framework ensures the international students to meet the requirements of various education and training services along with various rights of students. Tuition Protection Service (TPS) provides a flexible approach for placement and refund services for international students.
Comparing between my country and Australia, we seem to lack an effective learning environment and proper research methodology in education especially IT being a practically oriented subject. In Nepal, there are few universities that offer Masters in Information Technology such as Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Nepal which enrolls only 10 students per intake which is very challenging for getting admission, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, and Tribhuvan University. However, many problems still exist for students such as troubling schedule at Tribhuvan, Pokhara and Purbanchal University, teaching styles are old fashioned, outdated systems, etc. The education system is not as liable in Nepal as we have less qualified teachers as most of them are beginners to this profession who start teaching for gaining personal expertise rather than for being a professional teacher. We are limited to books and have less practical exposure. We lack research centers and internship offers which are obviously harming students for facing the competitive market in the future. A few of the institutes here in our country also offer Master Level courses in IT, in collaboration with foreign Universities, but those courses are not recognized worldwide. Besides that, the masters’ degrees offered here in our own country also place less emphasis on the practical aspect.
After choosing Australia, I searched for some universities which offer this course in Australia such as university name, university name. I gathered important information about education providers such as tuition fees, admission requirements, teaching faculties, and learning environments. It provides more than 100 undergraduate (bachelor) degrees and more than 150 postgraduate programs, from graduate certificates through to research degrees with five colleges and three specialist institutes, and includes degrees in architecture, environmental management, engineering, medicine, nursing, business finance, ICT, and aquaculture, and more. Moreover, the university name is highly regarded internationally for teaching and academic excellence. Masters in Information Technology and Systems are available in two cities where study centers are in Hobart and Launceston. Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, Australia’s island state and very suitable place for accommodation as it is also the southernmost city on the continent. Hobart is the prime position for exploring Australia’s natural wonders and eye-catching destinations like Tasmania Museum and Art Gallery, Museum of Old and New Art, Mount Wellington, Salamanca Markets and spectacular views of the harbor. It is also one of the most affordable places to study and live in Australia with a multicultural population of around 220,000 people.
